Presidency Message:
The 5th Article of Faith, “We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those in authority, to preach the Gospel, and administer in the ordinances thereof.” This brief statement speaks to the power and nature of the Priesthood of God. The Priesthood of God is intended to do more than allow men to preside over and conduct meetings, and to participate in the ordinances vital to our salvation. The Priesthood is the very power of God. The power by which this world and the heavens came into existence, the power by which the Gospel is preached throughout the world, the sick are healed, and the authority to conduct ordinances necessary for us to return to our Heavenly Father. He has chosen to delegate this power to worthy boys and men. It is a sacred trust. It allows us to act in the place of our Savior, to speak as He would speak…act as He would act, and bless as He would bless.

As leaders of Young Men, in us resides a special trust and confidence from our Heavenly Father to train up these young men in the Aaronic Priesthood. It is our responsibility to support the efforts of their parents in teaching them their duties and responsibilities as holders of the Aaronic Priesthood, and to provide opportunities for them to exercise their Priesthood.

It is my prayer that we receive the inspiration to carry out the responsibilities of our stewardship in a manner that would be pleasing to our Heavenly Father. One of the most important relationships our Young Men will have will be the one with their Aaronic Priesthood advisors. May we be always worthy of our callings and strive to seek after the one who wanders is my humble prayer. Ken Gunderson, 1st Counselor Stake YM.
